Taapsee Pannu has gradually grown to be more successful who has established herself as one of Bollywood’s most well-known figures. She is renowned for speaking out against important issues facing society and the industry.
Speaking about Ranbir Kapoor’s action crime movie Animal, the actress recently disclosed whether or not she would participate.
Taapsee Pannu’s take on Animal:
Taapsee Pannu was questioned regarding the popular 2023 movie Animal during an interview with Raj Shamani for his YouTube channel. The actress claimed to have a “take” on the movie even though she hasn’t seen it. Many people, she claimed, told her “too much” about it.
“Look, I’m not an extremist, so I’m willing to disagree with a lot of people. However, don’t make comparisons to Hollywood and claim that “Animal isn’t for everyone who liked Gone Girl.” You are serving a distinct audience. In Hollywood, people don’t start emulating movie actors’ hairstyles or quoting lines from films in everyday situations.”
Taapsee further added “They also don’t follow women around after witnessing it in a film. However, all of this occurs in our nation. This is how things really are. You can’t say, “Why are these pseudos talking like this about Animal when they can enjoy Gone Girl as art,” and make a comparison between our film industries and Hollywood. Recognize the distinction,” she stated.
Taapsee Pannu on not doing ‘such’ movies:
Taapsee Pannu stated that she has to employ her soft power as a celebrity while also keeping in mind the realities of society. She continued by quoting the well-known Spider-Man line, “With power comes responsibility.” Taapsee Pannu made clear, though, that this is just her opinion and that we all have the freedom to choose, so she won’t be telling actors not to do these movies.
Actor Taapsee Pannu said, “I am saying that I wouldn’t do it (animal).” The actress added that people ought to have their own moral compass and not let movies influence them.”
Javed Akhtar criticised Animal:
Following Javed Akhtar’s criticism of Animal, specifically a scene in which Ranbir’s character asks Triptii Dimri’s character to lick his shoe, Taapsee made his remark. The seasoned screenwriters and lyricists deemed the movie’s success “dangerous.” Animal’s group applauded back, saying, “Let love be free from the politics of gender.” Just call them that. Lovers. LOVER lied and cheated. Lick my shoe, said the lover. Exactly.”
Animal got support from Anurag Kashyap :
Anurag Kashyap had earlier posted a lengthy note supporting Sandeep Reddy Vanga along with a photo of the director of Animal. “The most misunderstood, scorned, and despised Filmmaker currently,” he wrote.
“He is the most vulnerable, honest, and kind person I have ever met. I wanted to meet him and ask him questions, and he was happy to answer them regarding the movie, which I saw two times in total” Anurag concluded.
More about Animal:
Under the direction of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal features Shakti Kapoor, Suresh Oberoi, Prem Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Saloni Batra, and Triptii Dimri. After its December 1st release, the movie was a huge commercial success. Some scenes, though, have drawn criticism. Following its popularity, discussions about a possible Animal Park sequel have taken place.
