Cannes 2024: Hollywood iconic figure Meryl Streep receives Lifetime Achievement Award
On 14th of May, legendary Hollywood actress Meryl Streep received the prestigious Palme d’Or award at the opening ceremony of the 77th Cannes Film Festival at French Riviera. She wore pendant earrings by an Indian designer Hanut Singh at the award ceremony.
According to the reports, the legendary actress returned to Cannes after three decades, last when she attended it to promote her 1988 film Evil Angels, which was based on the true story of Lindy Chamberlain, nearly 35 years back. “I’m just so grateful that you haven’t gotten sick of my face and you haven’t gotten off of the train,” she said after receiving the honorary Palme d’Or.
For the award ceremony, ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ star looked every bit sophisticated in her attire. She wore a classic satin Dior Haute Couture wrap dress and opted for pendant earrings by an Indian designer Hanut Singh, which complemented her outfit. The pendant earrings have drawn attention from fashion enthusiasts from all over the world.
The cultural icon is considered to be one of the greatest actresses in Hollywood. She is widely recognised for her performance in films such as Mamma Mia, The Iron Lady, Kramer Vs. Kramer, The Devil Wears Prada, Julie & Julia. She is also a recipient of three Academy Awards.
