After the arrest of Bibhav Kumar in the Swati Maliwal Assault Case, Delhi CM led a massive protest at the BJP Headquarters in Delhi today at noon.
Swati Maliwal, AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) Rajya Sabha MP alleged that Bibhav Kumar, a personal assistant to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal slapped her 7-8 times, “kicked on the chest, stomach, and pelvis area”.
Bibhav Kumar, was arrested on Saturday and was later sent to a 5 day police custody by Tis Hazari Court. The protest was led by the party in the response to the arrest of Bibhav Kumar.
“They (BJP) have initiated ‘Operation Jhaadu’ to dismantle the party. In the future, our bank accounts may be frozen, and we may be forced onto the streets as they may also seize our office,” Kejriwal claimed in a speech.
“Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are putting all the Aam Aadmi Party leaders in jail one by one, why? Because they are afraid of Arvind Kejriwal’s work. They are not able to provide 24-hour electricity, free electricity, good schools, that is why they want to finish Aam Aadmi Party…” said AAP leader Atishi.
Delhi Chief Minister said, “Prime Minister ji, stop playing this game of jail every day. We have reached your office, arrest the entire Aam Aadmi Party together.”
Ms. Maliwal in response to the protests posted on X saying, “There was a time when he hit the streets to get justice for Nirbhaya. Twelve years later, they are hitting the streets to save an accused who deleted CCTV footage and formatted the phone.
Section 144 is imposed on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg, and many AAP leaders have been detained by the Delhi police authorities during the protests.
“The road has offices of many political parties and important government installations and hence we have imposed Section 144. We have made adequate arrangements, multi-level barricading and we will ensure proper maintenance of law and order. They (AAP) didn’t seek permission, such kind of permissions are not given. Election is going on, the codes are in place.” DCP Harshvardhan said on security measures.
