An adaptation of Atlee’s Tamil language film ‘Theri’, ‘Baby John‘ is a highly awaited Hindi-language action drama film directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, Murad Khetani and Jyoti Deshpande. The cast includes Varun Dhawan, Keerthi Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff. The film is produced under Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios and A for Apple Productions
The film was originally slated to release on May 31 but it has now been postponed to be released on December 25.

Previously titled as VD18, the official title of the film as ‘Baby John’ was announced on February 5.

‘Baby John’: Adaptation of Atlee’s Tamil film Theri (2016)
Kalees is a director, and writer from Tamil Nadu known for his techno-thriller, Tamil language film ‘Kee’. Producer Arun Kumar, famously known as Atlee is a popular figure in Indian Cinema. He directed the film Theri, Mersal, and Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Hindi-language film ‘Jawan‘.
‘Theri’ is an emotional action thriller film inspired by Mani Ratnam’s Chatriyan. The film starred Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Amy Jackson, and Nainika Radhika Sarathkumar.
Music: The music of the film is composed by the recipient of National Film Award for Best Music Direction, Thaman S. He is majorly known for his compositions in Tamil and Telugu cinema.
Locations: Filming locations of ‘Baby John’ include Mumbai and Kerala.

National Film Award winner Keerthy Suresh is a popular name in the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films. She has recently lent her voice in the upcoming sci-fi thriller film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. In addition to the National Film Award for the film ‘Mahanati’, she has also won four (South Indian International Movie Awards) SIIMA Awards, and several other accolades in her acting career. ‘Baby John’ is her first debut Hindi film.
Born in Punjab, Wamiqa Gabbi is an Indian actress who works in Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malyalam films.
The film is going to clash with Aamir Khan starrer ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ a sequel to ‘Taare Zameen Par,’ which is also slated to release on December 25.
