Dharma Productions released the trailer of ‘Bad Newz’ on June 28. This upcoming comedy film is packed with punchy dialogues, one-liners, and plenty of drama unfolding among the cast. The film stars Tripti Dimri, Vicky Kaushal, Neha Dhupia and Ammy Virk in the lead roles.
‘Bad Newz’ is directed by Indian actor-writer-director Anand Tiwari, known for his roles in ‘Go Goa Gone’ (2013) and ‘Finding Fanny’ (2014). He has also directed “Love Per Square Foot.” His films often explore themes of comedy, romance, and relationships.
The film is slated to hit the theaters on July 19.
Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Anand Tiwari, the film promises an engaging storyline. The star cast of Bad Newz includes Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, Ammy Virk, and Neha Dhupia in pivotal roles.
The film has a similar plot line to ‘Good Newz’ which was released in 2019, a Hindi-language comedy film directed by Raj Mehta, which starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani.
Plot of Bad Newz
The two-minute-57-second trailer opens with Tripti Dimri confessing to Neha Dhupia that she doesn’t know who is the father of her unborn baby. Vicky Kaushal and Ammy Virk’s characters are revealed as the possible father. But the real twist happens when Dr.Baweja diagnoses it as a rare case of heteropaternal superfecundation, where a woman give birth to twins who have different fathers, which leads to the twins being half-siblings, sharing the same mother, but different father.

Cast Details: Tripti Dimri has gained critical recognition for her performances in Laila Majnu, Anvita Dutt’s period film Bulbbul (2020) and Qala (2022), and recently gained much popularity with a supporting role in the top-grossing action film “Animal” (2023), earning a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Vicky Kaushal, known for his performance in ‘Masaan’ (2015), earned the IIFA and Screen Awards for Best Male Debut for this role. He is also noted for his performances in ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ (2019) for which he won the National Film Award for Best Actor, ‘Manmarziyaan’ (2018), and ‘Sardar Udham’ (2021)Indian singer, actor, and producer, Ammy Virk is known for his work in Punjabi cinema and music. His debut film, “Angrej” in 2015 was a significant success at the box office. Virk has won numerous awards for his contributions to Punjabi entertainment. His films ‘Angrej’ and ‘Qismat’ are two of the highest grossing Punjabi films of all time.
Bad Newz was originally titled as Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam. Watch the film in theatres on July 19.
