State-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) announced the price hike of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 25 effective Friday (March 1st, 2024).
This is the second time in a row, On February 1st, OMCs increased the price of a 19 kg cylinder by Rs 14. The price of a 19 kg LPG gas cylinder was Rs 1,769.5 in Delhi, Rs 1,887 in Kolkata, Rs 1,723 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,937 in Chennai. However, the price of a 19 kg gas cylinder was slashed by Rs 39.50, on the new year eve of 2024.

The hike has been made after three consecutive price cuts. The new increased price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) or jet fuel will also be applicable from Friday, March 1st.
ATF Prices Hike
Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have been increased across metros which is also effective from March 1st.
ATF prices for domestic airlines have been raised to Rs 1,07,399 /Kl in Delhi and Rs 1,10,297 /Kl in Kolkata. In Mumbai and Chennai, the price hicked to Rs 94,809/Kl and Rs 1,05,399/Kl, respectively.
ATF prices of domestic airlines on International runs have been increased to $ 921.4 in Delhi, $ 959.49 in Kolkata, $ 919.49 in Mumbai, and $ 916.49 in Chennai. On February 1st, ahead of Budget 2024, OMCs slashed the price of ATF by Rs 1,221 /Kl.
Price Revise by State-owned Companies
State-owned companies such as Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) revise LPG (cooking gas) and ATF prices every month based on average international prices in the previous month.
