HBO dropped the official trailer of the epic fantasy drama “House of the Dragon” Season 2 on Tuesday, 14th of May.
“War is Coming, and neither of us may win, ” says Rhaenyra Targaryen, the Queen of the Targaryen dynasty. The two-and-a-half-minute trailer, takes us to the breathtaking and nostalgic landscapes of Westeros, featuring giant dragons and an impending civil war “Dance of the Dragons” — an epic Targaryen clan feud.
Based on George R.R Martin’s book “Fire & Blood”, “House of The Dragon“, is a prequel to Game of Thrones.
The prequel takes us back 200 years before the events of the popular series ‘Game of Thrones’, when ‘House Targaryen’ was the most powerful House in the seven kingdoms of Westeros. Season 2 chronicles the reign of House Targaryen.
Dance of the Dragons On the pursuit of the Iron Throne
“Dance of the Dragons” was a battle for the Iron Throne — a war of succession between Aegon II & his half sister Rhaenyra over their father’s Viserys I. They both believe to be the rightful heir to the throne. Season 2 takes up the violent power struggles between them, and their quest to claim the Iron Throne.
The first season of this American epic fantasy drama was released on August 2022. The much awaited season 2 will premiere on June 16, 2024 according to HBO, and will run for eight episodes. Fans are making a lot of buzz after the release of the trailer. Click here to watch the trailer here
