‘Kalki 2898 AD’ : Sung Choi is a Hollywood Concept Artist who has publicly accused the makers of the film of having stolen the opening scene from his artwork. In an Instagram post, he even shared the picture of the artwork that was posted on the internet about ten years ago.
In an Instagram post, he said “Unauthorized use of artwork is a bad practice. I sometimes even question doing art in this lawless environment.”
Sung Choi’s client base includes Marvel Studios, Warner Bros, Netflix Animation, Macmillan Publishing.
Internet has been talking about the film’s striking similarities to ‘Dune‘, and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road‘.
Netizens came in support of the Hollywood artist asking him to sue the makers of the film.
One user commented saying, “The whole trailer gives off the vibe of ‘Epoch’, ‘Mad Max’, ‘Dune’, and other films. The trailer of the film gives me the vibe of “saga” comic book series published by image comics. A lot of designs from the trailer of the film are ripped off from the ‘Halo‘ series and ‘Death Stranding’ too. Idk how some of the concept designers who worked on the film can stay silent.”
Another concept Artist Oliver Beck, also accused Vyjayanthi Films of stealing his artwork, a matte painting that he did for ‘Star Trek: Prodigy’. He shared the pictures on his social media.
‘Kalki 2898 AD‘ is scheduled to release on June 27
‘Kalki 2898 AD‘ is an upcoming epic drama and sci-fi thriller Indian film whose trailer was released on the internet on June 10. The cast includes Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, and Disha Patani in lead roles. Reported to be the most expensive Indian Film with a whopping budget of 600 crores, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is produced by Vyjayanthi Films and directed by Nag Ashwin.
‘Deepika-Prabhas’ starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is a highly anticipated film, which is slated to release on June 27. The film is set in a dystopian world and is based on Indian mythology, where Kalki refers to the 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu.
