On Sunday, BJP released its fifth list of 111 candidates for Lok Sabha Elections and nominated Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut as its Lok Sabha candidate from Mandi of Himachal Pradesh.
Kangana Ranaut’s Statement
After joining Bollywood actress said she was elated to officially join the party.
“My beloved Bharat and Bhartiya Janta’s own party, Bharatiya Janta party ( BJP) has always had my unconditional support, today the national leadership of BJP has announced me as their Loksabha candidate from my birthplace Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency) I abide by the high command’s decision on contesting Loksabha polls. I feel honored and elated to officially join the party. I look forward to be a worthy karyakarta and a reliable public servant,” Kangana Ranaut wrote on X.
Other Lok Sabha Candidates
Other Candidates on the list include actor Arun Govil, popularly known for his role of Ram in the TV serial Ramayana will contest from Meerut, Arjun Singh from Barrackpur, Rekha Patra from Basirhatand, K Surendra from Wayanad and former Congress MP Naveen Jindal from Kurukshetra.
Additionally, Sita Soren will contest from Dumka, Menaka Gandhi from Sultanpur, and Agnimitra Paul from Mednipur.
Dropped Candidates
The party has dropped Union Minister Ashwini Choubey from Buxar, Varun Gandhi from Philibhit, Rajvir Singh Diler from Hathras, Rajendra Agarwal from Meerut, Santosh Gangwar from Bareli, Satyadev Pachauri from Kanpur, Sanghmitra Maurya from Badayun, and VK Singh from Ghaziabad among others.
