King Charles has expressed his desire to meet with his son, Prince Harry, upon the latter’s return to the UK. However, an expert claims that this meeting would only occur under specific conditions.
Prince Harry’s previous brief visit to the UK garnered attention when he visited his father, King Charles, following the latter’s cancer diagnosis in February. Their interaction during this visit was limited to barely an hour before they parted ways.
There are indications that Charles’ recovery is progressing positively, to the extent that he is gradually resuming some of his royal duties. His recent public appearance at the University College Hospital Macmillan Centre serves as confirmation of this progress.
Prince Harry’s Trip To the UK
The Duke of Sussex is poised to return to the UK amidst the celebratory atmosphere surrounding the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. Reports indicate his intention to attend the thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on Wednesday, May 8, marking his first significant appearance at a UK event since his distancing from royal duties. Once again, he is expected to make this journey alone, without his wife, Meghan Markle.
A royal expert has emphasized King Charles’ desire to reunite with his son during this visit. However, it is said that the King has imposed a strict condition on this potential meeting.
Ingrid Seward, Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine, asserted that King Charles’ willingness to meet Prince Harry hinges on the latter’s accommodation arrangements while in London. According to Seward, if Harry opts to stay in a royal residence, he would receive the security protection he desires, facilitating private meetings with his father. Additionally, such an arrangement would reduce the likelihood of Harry using the meeting for public relations purposes. Seward further explained that Charles has official duties at Buckingham Palace, including his weekly session with the Prime Minister, and he desires to see his son during this time.
During Harry’s previous visit to the UK, it was reported that he temporarily stayed in hotels due to the lack of a homely station.
While this upcoming visit may also be brief, it is anticipated to be longer than his previous one, particularly because it coincides with Prince Archie’s 5th birthday on Monday. Seward emphasized that Harry values being present for such occasions, unlike before.
Following his visit to the UK, Markle will join him for their next destination – Nigeria, where they have been invited by the country’s Chief of Defence Staff.
