Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala met UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in London at 10 Downing Street, to celebrate 100 years of ‘friendship treaty’ between the two nations United Kingdom and Nepal.
At the event, she represented her hometown Nepal. Dressed in black and golden floral printed saree, she looked effortlessly graceful.
Koirala has recently collaborated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on his Netflix project ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ – the actress had garnered acclaim for her stellar performance in the series as Mallika Jaan. At the event she was elated to see the attendees present at the event had all watched Heeramandi.
She took to Instagram and shared photos of her meeting with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at his residence. In a caption she wrote “It was an honor to be invited to 10 Downing Street to celebrate United Kingdom – Nepal relations and 100 years of our friendship treaty. It was such a pleasure to hear the Prime Minister @rishisunakmp speak fondly of our country #nepal🇳🇵. I took the liberty of inviting the P.M. and his family to come trek to Everest Base Camp.”
She also expressed her joy saying “Can you believe that most of the attendees had seen #heeramandionnetflix and loved it ? I was thrilled! 🙏🏻

Manisha Koirala: Family legacy to Bollywood fame
Manisha Koirala, born in 1970, hails from a politically prominent family of Nepal. Her father is a politician and her grandfather Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala was a Prime Minister of Nepal from 1959 – 1960. She is famously known for her Hindi films Mann 1999), Dil Se (1998), Bombay (1995), and Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995).
She has worked with Bhansali on his directorial debut film Khamoshi in 1996. The film has won several Filmfare awards and Star Screen Awards. In 2010, Filmfare included the actress performance in Khamoshi, on its Top 80 Iconic Performance List. After the gap of 28 years they both came together for their recent project.
