Nothing, a tech startup in the UK,is about to release its third smartphone. The Nothing (2a), a new mid-range smartphone, will be manufactured in India.
This was verified by CEO Carl Pei on X (formerly Twitter). March 5 is scheduled for the launch of the Nothing (2a) in India and around the world.
Nothing will manufactured in India
Carl Pei, the CEO of the company, had extensive interactions with the Indian audience on X; as a result, he changed his username to ‘Carl Bhai’. Additionally, the CEO pledged cooperation with the AI start-up Perplexity, which directly competes with Google Search.
The Nothing (2a) is being manufactured in India, which is in line with a larger trend of tech companies manufacturing devices domestically. For example, Apple has been producing its most recent iPhone models in India and intends to increase its manufacturing capacity in India.
Nothing Phone (2a): features and speciality
With the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset, the Nothing (2a) is anticipated to be a competitive choice in the mid-range smartphone market. It is expected to retail for approximately €349 (roughly Rs 31,000) for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage model and €399 for the 12GB RAM/256GB storage variant. This puts it up against other tech giants such as the Realme 12 Pro+ and the Redmi Note 13 Pro+.
Its specs are rumored to include a 32MP front-facing camera, a dual rear camera setup with 50MP sensors, and a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Additionally, it is anticipated that the smartphone will support up to 45W of fast charging and run Nothing OS 2.5, which is based on Android 14.
