Today, Vanga’s third film Animal is still experiencing marvellous success and grossed over Rs 600 crore worldwide.
But behind his accomplishments there is an untold tale of filmmaker. Sandeep Reddy Vanga belongs to a middle class family, his family members made significant sacrifices to bolster his dreams.
Sandeep Vanga’s sold his 36-acre garden:
At the beginning of his career as a Filmmaker, Vanga sold his 36-acre mango garden for a meagre Rs 1.5 crore to finance his debut movie ‘Arjun Reddy.’
Sandeep took a risky move, realising the risks involved, despite the uncertainty that came with selling his family’s land to fund his project. ‘Arjun Reddy’ signalled the start of a victorious journey, proving that his sacrifice and perseverance had paid off.
Challenges faced by Sandeep Vanga:
Siddhant Karnick, who played the brother in law of the movie’s lead, recently shared Vanga’s personal struggles. He said, “We are discussing his art, I would like to discuss his life, which not many people know about.”
Talking about his struggles, Karnick added, “His brother was telling me, when he started his filmmaking career assisting people, he wasn’t getting jobs as a director. He finally formed a company with friends, and just a month (filming), his financiers backed out. He was Rs 1.6 crore short. His family got together and sold their ancestral land, 36 acres of mango farmland was sold to fund his movie.”
Karnick also shared that Vanga’s brother ‘Prannay’ came all the way from the U.S and left his family and job there so that he can help Vanga in his first project. Vanga’s family members invested their money together, to make his debut movie ‘Arjun Reddy’ which became a hit.
His second film ‘Kabir Singh’ With Sahihd Kapoor crossed Rs 100 crore, and third film with Ranbir Kapoor crossing Rs 800 crore.
Animal Box Office collection so far:
Animal had a tremendous third Friday and numbers were higher as compared to the ‘Jawan’ and ‘Gadar 2.’ On Sunday, the film managex to achieve a collection of about Rs 14.9 crore in all languages.
The total collection of Animal so far is Rs 512.84 crore net in India while the film managed to cross Rs 800 crore worldwide. Animal is also the highest grossing movie of Ranbir Kapoor.
