On Monday, Khalistani separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun alleged the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of receiving ₹133.54 crore ($16 million) from Khalistani groups between 2014 and 2022.
Pannun’s Allegations
Pannun claimed that in 2014, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal proposed releasing Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar in exchange for financial support from Khalistani groups. Bhullar was involved in the Delhi Bomb blast (1993), which led to the death of nine individuals and injured 31 others.
Pannun made these allegations in a video that started surfacing on social media. He further alleged that in 2014, Kejriwal and pro-Khalistani Sikhs had a meeting at a Gurudwara in Richmond Hill, New York.
He claimed that Kejriwal had promised to facilitate the release of Bhullar in return for financial support.
Who is Gurpatwant Singh Pannun?
Pannun is an Indian-origin individual with dual citizenship in the US and Canada. He is a Khalistani movement activist and leader of Sikhs for Justice.
Not the First Time
Earlier in January, Pannun had accused Kejriwal and his party (AAP) of receiving money from Khalistani groups. He stated that Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had received $6 million in donations in US and Canada from Khalistani supporters.
He had warned the AAP leader, hinting at consequences if leaders of Sikh for Justice, were not released by February. The warning came after the arrest of Jagdish Singh, Manjeet Singh, and Davinder Singh by the State Special Operation Cell of Punjab Police.
