One of Vin Diesel‘s former assistants has filed a sexual battery charge against the Fast & Furious actor. While Diesel was filming Fast Five in 2010, Astra Jonasson worked for him. She claimed the star sexually assaulted her and then fired her.
The lawsuit, first reported to Vanity Fair, also accuses the actor’s ‘One Race Production’ company for discriminating on the basis of gender, wrongful determination, and among other allegations.
She travelled to Atlanta to work with Diesel and his team on the immensely popular film “Fast Five,” which is the fifth instalment in the “Fast & Furious” franchise. According to the complaint, Jonasson was forced to stay close to Vin Diesel during events where he wasn’t with his long-term girlfriend because it would protect him from being seen in pictures with other women.
In a phone conversation with The Times on Thursday, Jonasson’s lawyer, Claire-Lise Y. Kutlay, commended her client for making the “very courageous step to speak out” against the actor and demanding answers from One Race.
Vin Diesel assaulted his assistant:
According to Jonasson, on a September 2010 night, Diesel was entertaining and hosting several women in his luxurious St. Regis hotel suite. She claims that after the other women left early the following morning, her job was to usher the actor out of the hotel. The lawsuit claimed that Vin Diesel then ‘alone in the hotel suite with him, sexually assaults Ms. Jonasson.’
Reports say the actor grabbed his assistant, kissed her, and felt her breasts. According to Jonasson, Diesel mistreated ‘his position of authority as her employer’ and she battled to break free from his hold. Diesel allegedly disregarded Jonasson’s protests and went on to touch her body, dropping to his knees, pushing up her dress, touching her legs, and attempting to pull down her underwear.
It is said that after Jonasson ‘screamed and ran towards the nearby bathroom,’ the actor followed her. According to the complaint, Diesel grabbed his assistant’s hand and placed it on his penis, pinning her against the wall with his body. According to Jonasson, she pulled back her hand and ‘verbally refused’ his actions; however, Diesel disregarded her requests and started to masturbate. Jonasson was ‘frozen in a state of shock and unable to move’ as a result of the alleged assault.
According to the accuser, The President of One Race and sister of the actor, Samantha Vincent, called her hours after the alleged assault and told her that her job had been terminated.
Vin Diesel confuted allegations:
Vin Diesel clearly refuted the allegations, as lawyer Bryan Freedman disclosed in a statement to Variety. Additionally, he stated that this is the first time he has ever heard of the over 13-year-old allegation made by a supposedly 9-day employee. These absurd accusations are totally debunked by abundant evidence.
Many people are shocked by the abrupt claims, particularly the actor’s fans. He would suffer serious repercussions if found guilty.
