On Thursday, an FIR was filed against former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl. A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012 (POSCO) and 354A IPC against former CM.
FIR against BS Yediyurappa
The mother of a 17-year-old girl lodged an FIR at Sadashivanagar police in Bengaluru, Karnataka on Thursday evening. The case was registered under POSCO.
The FIR alleges that the girl and her mother had met an 81-year-old leader seeking help for another sexual assault case on her.
The mother alleged that Yediyurappa sexually assaulted her daughter (17 years old) after dragging her inside her room. The girl came out of the room and told her mother about the alleged assault.
Incident – Accusation against Yediyurappa
The alleged incident took place on Feb 2nd, 2024, when a 17-year-old girl with her mother had gone to Yediyurappa’s house to seek help in another rape case.
“I sought the formation of a special investigation team to investigate the matter. After hearing us, Yeduyirappa took her to the room and locked them inside. Little later he opened the door and my daughter came running, saying Yediyurappa sexually assaulted her,” the woman wrote in the complaint.
The woman added, “When she questioned him (Yeduyirappa), he replied, “I was just checking if she was raped or not.”
The woman further told cops that Yeduyirappa stopped us from sharing the ordeal and she was scared to file the complaint. But she had decided to file a complaint and seek legal action against him.
