Jyothika and Surya got married in the year 2006 and recently, she opened up about what her ideal marriage looks like. In a recent interview with Saina South Plus, Jyothika elaborated on why she believes it’s important to not just fall in love, but ‘rise in love’ as well. The interview was held as a part of the promotion for her upcoming Malayalam film with Mammootty, titled Kaathal – The Core.

Jyothika says “Don’t take your partner for granted”
Many years later in an interview, she said, “It’s very important to rise in love and not only fall in it.” When asked more about her experience of marriage she said, “It’s important to respect and appreciate your partner. Do not take your partner for granted. When you respect and appreciate them, love is something that happens automatically and unconditionally.” Also, Manmotty who was with her during the interview added, “Yes, That kind of love grows stronger and sweeter as the couple grow old together.”
Jyothika revealed why he married Suriya.
In the interviews with Galatta Plus and Behindwoods in the past, Jyothika stated that she wanted to marry Suriya because he respects her and values her individuality. “Suriya always acted only to the extent the director asked him to and never took undue advantage,” she said of her experience of working with him in seven films. After working for 6-9 years with him, when Suriya finally proposed to her she said yes instantly because she respects him too. “I had earned the money I needed by then. I married him in a month,” she said.
Jyothika and her upcoming projects
She is one of the most famous actresses in the South film industry and has been seen in films recently. Jyothika will soon be seen in the Malayalam film Kaathal – The Core, starring Mammootty as the lead role opposite her. She plays a wife looking to divorce her husband in the film. Apart from that, the actor also has a few Hindi projects lined up.
