On Thursday, Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi met and interacted with some of the well-known gamers of the Indian Gaming Community. PM Modi and the gamers discussed the future of the gaming industry, where this industry is heading and how can it develop and grow. Their candid conversation also included time-to-time banters and candid conversations.
Gamers who were included in the discussion were Naman Mathur (aka Mortal), Animesh Agarwal (aka Thug), Mithilesh Patankar (aka MythPat), Payal Dhare, Anshu Bisht (aka GamerFleet), Tirth Mehta and Ganesh Gangadhar.

The discussion also included the topics of the significance of gaming, historical references and problems faced by the gamers. There was also a discussion on the struggles of legitimising gaming as a career in India. PM Modi asked them about their way of handling the never-ending debate between gaming and gambling. Payal Dhare even shared that women are joining the industry when asked about the opportunities for women in the sector.
PM Modi, who has always advertised ‘Digital India’ during his government’s tenure, said that he will work towards boosting the gaming industry in India and embracing the creativity of these creators.
Following the discussion, PM Modi tried his hands at multiple games. He was seen wearing a VR headset and playing popular games including mobile and PC/console gaming. The gamers expressed their surprise at how fast the senior politician was able to get the gist of the new-gen online games.
