Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating and laying foundation stones for multiple projects worth crores in his Parliamentary constituency Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi will be addressing public meetings and launching 24 schemes worth Rs 11,972 crore, on Friday (Feb 2nd). He will also lay a foundation stone for 12 schemes worth Rs 2,195.07 crore.
Aim of PM’s Visit to Varanasi
On Thursday, PM Modi reached Varanasi and on Friday, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various schemes for the development of the temple town.
The schemes cover diverse sectors such as healthcare, transportation, education, sports, and cultural heritage. The project aims to increase employment opportunities and improve the overall development of the region.
PM’s Itinerary
PM Modi is to attend three key events in Varanasi, two public gatherings one at Ravidas Jayanh celebrations in Seer Govind, Hanpur, where he will inaugurate the statue of Sant Ravidas, and another in Karkhiyaon where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 36 projects worth Rs 14,316 crore. Additionally, at Banaras Hindu University, He will felicitate the winners of the Sansad quiz contest, Sanskrit competition, and Sansad Photography competition.
Projects for the Development of Varanasi
PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various schemes and projects for the development of the region. The projects include :
- Four lanes of the Gharga- Bridge- Varanasi section of National Highway 233 and four lanes of Sultanpur-Varanasi section of National Highway 56.
- HPCL LPG bottling point in Sevapuri, Banas Kashi Sankul milk processing unit at UPSIDA Agro Park Karkhiyaon, and silk fabric printing common facility center for weavers.
- National Institute of Fashion Technology in Varanasi.
- New medical college in Varanasi and National Centre of Aging at Banaras Hindu University.
- Ten spiritual journey projects along Panchkoshi Parikrama Marg and redevelopment of public facilities at five stops on the Pavan path.
- Sigra Sports Stadium Phase-1 and District Rifle Shooting Range.
- Redevelopment of ponds and parks for beautification. Along with projects for the design and development of a 3-D urban digital map and database.
