On Tuesday, the Union Public Service Commission rescheduled the UPSC Civil Service Examination (CSE) 2024. It was set to be conducted on May 26th, 2024. As per the notification, the UPSC CSE prelims exam 2024 will now be held on June 16th, due to Lok Sabha elections.
The Commission’s notification reads, “Due to the schedule of the impending General Election, the Commission has decided to postpone the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination – 2024 which also serves as a screening test for the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2024 from 26-05- 2024 to 16-06-2024.”
About UPSC Civil Service Examination
UPSC IAS written exam will be held in two shifts, General Studies and Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT). The General Studies paper will be held in the morning session (from 9.30 am to 11.30 am) and afternoon session (from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm).
According to the official announcement, the registration deadline was extended until March 6th to 6 pm and the correction window will be open from March 7th to March 13th.
UPSC CES is taken in three phases, prelim, mains, and personality test. Candidates have to score specified cutoff marks to qualify for the UPSC IAS Main Exam 2024, which is to be conducted from September 20th.
Admit Card
The UPSC IAS prelims 2024 admit card will be released ten days before the exam by the commission, and candidates will be able to download their UPSC Prelims 2024 hall ticket from the official website (upsc.gov.in). To download an admit card, individuals will need their registration number, roll number, or date of birth.
UPSC has announced a total of 1,056 vacancies for the CSE exam and 150 for the Indian Forest Service (IFoS), for this year.
About Lok Sabha Polls
As per the announcement by the Election Commission on March 16th, Lok Sabha polls are scheduled from April 19th to June 1st and will be conducted in seven phases across the nation. The counting of votes will be on June 4th.
