Local resident praying for worker early rescue:
All the possible efforts have been made to rescue 41 workers who are trapped in the Silkyara Tunnel.
Local residents are praying from their local dirty “Baba Boukhang” to make this rescue operation successful. Talking to locals, everyone offers their prayers daily for the safe rescue of silkyara tunnel workers.
Native people’s belief:
Rajesh Rawat, a resident of Bhramkhaal village about 10 km away from Silkyara Tunnel said he has huge faith in Baba Boukhang. He and his family pray daily for the safe rescue of the workers.
According to the locals, Baba Boukhang deity is considered as the protector of the area.
Local residents said there will be a “mela” at the temple of Baba Boukhang near the tunnel Sunday.
Drilling at the collapsed area has been stopped since Friday, because the auger machine faced a number of obstacles. On Saturday, a tunnelling expert at the site said “the machine was broken.”
After the several attempts, temple priest Ganesh Prasad Bijalwan had earlier said company officials called him and requested him to perform a special Puja.
So he performed puja last week for the success of the rescue operation.
The priest added “Uttarakhand is the land of gods. There is a tradition of building a small temple for the local deity before building any bridge, road or tunnel. The work is completed only after taking their blessings.”
