“Sam Bahadur” – Vicky Kaushal talks of his journey of onboarding in the film
Vicky Kaushal can be seen sharing his experience of playing the role of Sam Manekshaw in the film. During the teaser launch, he revealed that “The journey of Sam started during the shoot of Raazi. During the stay at Patiala in a hotel, Meghna Gulzar told me about this film. She is thinking of doing it next. I had heard about Sam Manekshaw but didn’t know what he looked like or what are his qualities. Immediately, I searched on Google and I thought to myself that he is so handsome, I won’t be selected to play this role.”
“In May 2019, Meghna called me and told me to meet her at her place in Bandra where she talked in detail about this film and Manekshaw sir’s journey and told me to go through the script. I was about to go to New York that day and I read the whole script on the flight. And for the next 15 hours, I couldn’t wait, I just wanted to call her and say that I am doing this film, please don’t take anyone else. (Laughs). We have given our best to bring into life the character of Sam Manekshaw.”
